Psychiatrist in Jaipur for patients from across Rajasthan

Planning the trip

Coming to Jaipur for treatment

  • By train

Most trains from other districts arrive at Jaipur Junction, a short cab or auto-rickshaw ride from the clinic in Nirman Nagar.

  • By bus

Rajasthan Roadways buses arrive at Sindhi Camp, also a short ride from the clinic. Buses from the Ajmer side come in along Ajmer Road, close to the clinic.

  • By car

The clinic is on the western side of Jaipur, near Ajmer Road. From the south, Tonk Road passes Narayana Hospital first; from the north and east, allow time to cross the city.

  • Staying overnight

When the journey is long, many families stay one night. Hotels and guest houses around Jaipur Junction and Sindhi Camp are a short drive from the clinic.

Hospital admission at Narayana Hospital

When someone needs closer care, such as a severe depression with thoughts of self-harm, mania, psychosis or a difficult alcohol withdrawal, Dr. Mathur can arrange admission at Narayana Hospital in Pratap Nagar, so treatment continues under the same psychiatrist. It helps if one family member can stay in Jaipur during the admission.

Why do families travel to Jaipur for a psychiatrist?

Specialist psychiatrists are still few outside the bigger cities. Families come to Jaipur for a first specialist opinion, a second opinion on an existing diagnosis or treatment, assessments for children, de-addiction, or because a relative needs hospital admission.

Can we see Dr. Mathur and go home the same day?

From most cities within about 200 km, yes, with an early start and a late-morning or early-afternoon appointment. From further away, such as Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota or Bhilwara, many families stay one night in Jaipur.

What if the person who needs help refuses to come?

Family members can come first, without the patient, to describe what is happening and talk through how to approach them. Do not give medicines secretly or force the person; in an emergency, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department.

How do we book from another district?

Call 72404-45656, send a WhatsApp message, or use the form on the Contact page, and say where you are travelling from, so that the team can suggest a time that suits your journey.
