Psychiatrist in Jaipur for patients from Haryana

South Haryana is closer to Jaipur than many people expect: Narnaul and Rewari are a three to four hour journey. Families from Haryana come to Dr. Surabhi Mathur for a second opinion, for addiction care away from their own town, or because relatives in Jaipur can help during treatment.

Why people travel

When the journey to Jaipur makes sense

Most people in Haryana look first to Rohtak, Gurugram or Delhi. Jaipur makes sense when it is simply the nearer or easier journey, as it often is from the Narnaul and Mahendragarh side, or when a family wants privacy and a fresh opinion away from home.

  • A second opinion

When treatment has not helped, or a diagnosis does not seem right, a fresh look at the whole history can clear things up.

  • Addiction

Alcohol and drug problems, often with a family that would rather seek help away from home.

  • Psychosis and severe illness

Hearing voices, fixed false beliefs or a long illness that has not settled, with hospital admission if it is needed.

  • Assessments for children

Concerns about a child’s development, behaviour or learning, where a single careful assessment can guide the next steps.

Planning the trip

Getting to Jaipur and where to stay

By road

From Rewari and the Delhi side, NH-48 comes south through Shahjahanpur, Kotputli and Shahpura and enters Jaipur on Delhi Road. Narnaul and Mahendragarh join the same highway around Kotputli, or come down through Neem Ka Thana to Sikar Road. From Bhiwani and Hisar, the usual way is south through Loharu and Jhunjhunu to Sikar, then NH-52 into Jaipur, which takes noticeably longer than the south Haryana routes.

By train and air

Rewari Junction is on the main Delhi-Jaipur railway line, with many trains a day. Narnaul has its own line to Jaipur through Reengus, and Hisar-Jaipur trains call at Bhiwani. All of them reach Jaipur Junction; check current timings before you book a slot.

Where to stay

Hotels and guest houses are easy to find around Jaipur Junction and Sindhi Camp, a short ride from the clinic. If your appointment is at Narayana Hospital, or someone is admitted there, it is easier to stay in the Pratap Nagar and Tonk Road area. Mention it when you book, and the team can tell you which side of the city to stay on.

Your visit

How a first visit and follow-ups are planned

  1. 01

    Before you set out

Call or WhatsApp to book, and confirm your slot the day before. Choose a time that leaves room for the journey both ways; for a long trip, a midday appointment or a night in Jaipur takes the pressure off.

  2. 02

    What to bring

Every earlier prescription, the strips or boxes of current medicines, test reports and any hospital discharge summary, with a short written note of when the problem began and what has been tried.

  3. 03

    Who should come

The patient and one or two family members who know the history. If the person who needs help refuses to come, family members can come first to talk through how to approach them.

  4. 04

    After the first visit

Follow-ups are closer together at first, then spaced several weeks apart once treatment is settled, and planned around your travel. Dr. Mathur explains what to watch for in between and when to call.

If hospital admission is needed

Sometimes care is safest in hospital for a while: a severe depression with thoughts of self-harm, mania or psychosis, alcohol withdrawal that needs medical supervision, or someone who has stopped eating and drinking. Dr. Mathur is a Consultant Psychiatrist at Narayana Hospital in Pratap Nagar, Jaipur, so if admission is needed it can be arranged there and care continues under the same psychiatrist. For families from Haryana, it helps if one relative can stay in Jaipur during the admission.

Is Jaipur nearer than Gurugram or Delhi for us?

From Narnaul and Mahendragarh, the journey to Jaipur is often similar to the journey to Delhi, and without the city traffic at the far end. From Rewari, Gurugram is closer, so people from Rewari usually choose Jaipur for a particular reason, such as a second opinion or family in the city. From Hisar and Bhiwani, Jaipur is a long day’s travel, so plan for an overnight stay.

Is there a direct train from Haryana to Jaipur?

Yes, from several places. Rewari is on the main Delhi-Jaipur line, Narnaul has its own line through Reengus, and Hisar-Jaipur trains call at Bhiwani. Timings change, so check the current timetable before you book your appointment.

What if the person who needs help refuses to come?

Family members can come first, without the patient, to describe what is happening and talk through how to approach them. Do not give medicines secretly or force the person; in an emergency, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department.

How do we book from another state?

Call 72404-45656, send a WhatsApp message, or use the form on the Contact page, and say where you are travelling from, so that the team can suggest a time that suits your journey.
